In January and February 2025, Prince of Songkla University (PSU) had the pleasure of hosting two international medical students as part of the International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA) internship program.
Mr. Yeonwoo Choi from South Korea and Ms. Neja Banko from Slovenia participated in a one-month internship, contributing to the GaitREHub project. During their time at PSU, they gained hands-on experience in biomechanics and insole design, an essential aspect of personalized healthcare and rehabilitation.
Practical Learning & 3D Printing
Under expert guidance, the students learned:
- Designing and fabricating insoles – both flat and contour models
- 3D printing techniques for producing customized insoles
- Testing plantar pressure distribution to assess the effects of insoles during walking
Dr. Dejan Movrin and Dr. Sanja Bojić provided additional training, offering insights into advanced 3D printing applications in medical technology.
We look forward to welcoming more students and fostering global collaboration in medical innovation!
